KING ABDUL AL-AZIZ III IBN SAUD Patek Philippe, Genève, No. 706400, case No. 2600021, Ref. 2481, specially ordered by Patek Philippe's Saudi Arabian retailer in 1953 in honor of King Abdul al-Aziz III Ibn Saud (1880-1953), founder of Saudia Arabia. Made in 1956. Very fine and rare, center second, 18K pink gold and ruby wristwatch with a painted enamel dial and an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe tiled bracelet. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives.

C. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, snap-on case back with engraved logo, concave band and bezel, fl uted curved lugs. D. Ivory-colored bearing the portrait of the King of Saudi Arabia - the miniature was hand painted on each watch - with applied round and baguette ruby-set indexes, outer minute division. Pink gold "Dauphine" hands. M. 27-SC, stamped twice with the Geneva Quality HallMark, rhodium-plated, ?faussescôtes? decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, swan-neck regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Thickness 10 mm. Approx overall length 165 mm.
