Ref. 2497, The Only Known Luminous Black Dial Patek Philippe, Genève, movement No. 888132, case No. 696495, Ref. 2497. Made in 1955, sold on June 8th, 1962. Extremely fine and equally rare, center-seconds, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases and an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.

C. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, snap-on case back engraved "M.M.C.", concave bezel, straight curved lugs. D. Black with applied yellow gold faceted indexes and luminous dot, subsidiary dial for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases, outer minute/seconds track with Arabic five second numerals. Luminous yellow gold auphine hands. M. Cal. 27- SC Q, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating blued Breguet balance spring, swan-neck regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Thickness 12 mm.

According to our research, the exceptional quality of this black dial made by Stern Frères, was fitted in this watch during a service at the manufacture circa 1990.
Ref. 2497 Production of this reference began in 1951, arround 120 pieces are known to exist. This reference was made in yellow gold standard production, pink gold very few examples known, white gold two examples known, and platinum two examples known. - First series: with alternating upright applied gold Arabic numerals and dot indexes, center-seconds and feuille hands. Diam. 37 mm. - Second series: alternating upright applied gold Arabic numerals and dot indexes, center-seconds and dauphine hands. Diam. 37 mm. - Third series: with applied gold baton indexes, flat back, recessed winding crown and dauphine hands. Diam. 37 mm.
