Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 868599, case No. 696511, Ref. 2499, circa 1955, produced in 349 examples from 1950 to 1985, among them very few with tachometer. The 3rd series finished in 1978, and from then the watch with sapphire crystal becomes Ref. 2499/100. Extremely fine and rare astronomic, 18 ct. gold gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, register and tachometer, perpetual calendar and moon phases.

D. mat silver with applied gold indexes. + auxiliary seconds and 30 minutes register dials, graduation for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the lunations. "Dauphine" gold hands. M. 13"` Q Geneva Quality Hall Mark, rhodiumed, "fausses côtes" decoration, 23 jewels, lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance adjusted to 8 positions, Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. In excellent condition. Diam. 37 mm.

Notes

Usually, the Ref. 2499 by Patek Philippe bears a round buttons chronograph but no tachometer, and the 2499/100 bears square button chronograph and tachometer.
