Unique Ref. 2499-100, ?Yellow Gold? Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, No. 868339, case No. 2779194, Ref. 2499-100. Made in 1943 and sold on December 14, 1944. In 1988 upon the customer?s request, the original case, Ref. 1518, was officially replaced in Patek Philippe?s workshops, by the current one, Ref. 2499. Very fine and rare, astronomic, 18K yellow gold gentleman?s wristwatch with round button chronograph, 30-minute register, perpetual calendar, moon phases and an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by a fitted Patek Philippe box and the Extract from the Archives attesting to the above-mentioned change.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, concave bezel, pushers in the band, fluted lugs, sapphire crystal. D. Matte silver with applied yellow gold numerals and dot indexes, outer minutes/seconds and 1/5th seconds divisions, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 30 minute register, graduation for the date, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases. Yellow gold ?feuille? hands. M. Cal. 13???, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium-plated, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 23 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 38 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Property of a Japanese Gentleman

Ref. 1518 Produced in 281 examples from 1941 to 1954, in yellow and pink gold, only four examples known to date in stainless steel. -
First series with applied gold Arabic numerals from 1941 to 1954. -
Second series presented at the Basel Fair in 1942 with enameled hour indexes, the 12 in applied gold Arabic numerals. -
Third series with applied gold indexes, the 12 in applied gold Arabic numerals. -
Fourth series :with applied gold "bâton" indexes.

Ref. 2499/100: -
Fifth series: From 1978 to circa 1985, round buttons, sapphire crystal, "feuille" or "dauphine" hands, applied "baton" indexes. Very few examples were made with tachometer or telemeter scale and three pieces only with sapphire crystal back. In this series, models with the tachometer indication are extremely rare. Only one example is known with a black dial. This reference was produced in: yellow gold and in pink gold, and only two examples in platinum, of which one was sold by Antiquorum in Geneva on April 9, 1989, "The Art of Patek Philippe", lot 34.
