Notes

This watch, Ref. 2526, is among the very first self-winding wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe, which first launched self-winding wristwatches in 1953. The present wristwatch was produced that same year being therefore one of the first within the series. The very first watch of the series Ref. 2526 is illustrated in the book by Madeleine and Osvaldo Patrizzi in Colter tingPatel; Philippe NWntches, Guido Mondani Editore, Torino, 1994, page 111, pl. 167. When this watch was produced, the series was not yet standardised, therefore the signature on the dial is not gilt, but printed in black with letters of slightly different design.
