Notes

Ref. 3448 Produced in 586 examples, the majority in yellow gold, very few in pink or white gold from 1962 to 1982, with the calibre 27-4600, bearing the serial number 1'119'000. The present watch bears "Dauphine" radiumed hands with movement number 1119008. We may presume that [his watch is the 9th model of this series and that, at the beginning, the reference 3448 was created with radiumed hands, modified then to regular "Dauphine" hands. In the 1960's, the manufactures started to replace radium coating of the hands and numerals of the watches by tritium coating. Asa matter of fact, they had noticed that radiumed dials were slightly radio-active. A unique example of this reference is known to date in platinum. Its movement was made in 1973 and, at the request of the client, was cased in platinum by Patek Philippe, with sapphire indexes on the dial, and delivered on 9 January 1997. This watch was solcl by Antiquorum Geneva, on 18-19 April 1998, for SFr. 201'500 (US$ 133'100).
