Notes

Ellipse Launched in 1968, the Ellipse represented the ultimate dress watch. A subtle mix of elegance (the perfect combination of the rounded yellow gold case shape and the striking blue dial) and thinness, it was best represented by Reference 3748 with its perfect oval proportions. Over the years Patek Philippe developed this classic with variations on case shape (from lady's size to jumbo and from oval to a more rectangular shape) and movements (from manual-wind to self-winding and quartz). Interestingly, Reference 3858, with a hexagonal case shape, has never before been sold at Antiquorum and to the best of our knowledge has never previously appeared at auction.
