Very fine, self-winding, 18K pink gold wristwatch with perpetual calendar, moon phases and an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box, certificate, additional solid pink gold case back and setting pin.

Matte silver with applied pink gold faceted baton and pyramidal indexes, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary dials for the days of the month, the week, the 24 hours, the month and the leap year, aperture for the moon phases. Pink gold "dauphine" hands. M. Cal. 240 Q, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 27 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, free-sprung Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, 22K gold micro-rotor mounted on ball bearings. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 9 mm.

Production of this reference started in 1985 and ceased in April 2007. The model No. 1 was dedicated to Theodor Beyer and is now in the "Museum of Time Measurement" in Zürich. Ref. 3940 replaced References 3848 & 3850 and is among the most sought after Patek Philippe references by collectors and enthusiasts.
