Patek Philippe & Cie, Genève, No 1903058, Ref. 3979, retailed by Beyer Zurïch. Made on special request, sold April 24, 1995. Production of this reference started in 1989 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Patek Philippe. Unique and extremely fine, self-winding, minute-repeating, platinum gentleman's wristwatch with platinum and sapphire crystal case-backs as well as a platinum Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by a leather winding box, a mahogany presentation box and the original certificate.

C. three-body, solid, polished, diamond-turned sloped bezel, concave lugs, transparent back. D. white enamel dial with painted radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds dial. White gold "Feuille"hands. M. Cal. R 27 PS, stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark, rhodium-plated, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 39 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating balance-spring, 22K gold micro-rotor, repeater on gongs by means of a slide on the band.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 34 mm.

According to the Patek Philippe archives only one example of Ref:3979 was produced in platinum with enamel dial..Ref. 3979Production started in 1989 with the caliber R 27 P.S. featuring 342 components and bearing the serial number 1904000.It is a technical exploit to incorporate in a 12 1/2''' movement a micro-rotor oscillating mass together with a minute-repeating mechanism.The first watch of this series 3979 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches, by Martin Huber and Alan Banbery, 1998 Edition,p. 320.
