Notes

While the 5020 was relatively unpopular upon its launch, it is fair to say that Patek Philippe was in advance with this watch. The few collectors who appreciated its unequivocally 1970?s design combined with perpetual calendar instantly understood its appeal. It was produced over a relatively short period of time - from 1994 to 2002 - and in small numbers. The present watch was originally fitted with a silver dial. The owner liked the combination of a black dial with a yellow case, so he added the black dial usually featured on the platinum version to his already complete set. The watch's rarity is further enhanced by the original bracelet, as specified in the certificate of origin. To the best of our knowledge only 22 examples of the reference 5020 have appeared at auction (only 5 in yellow gold). This is the only example known in yellow gold with original bracelet.
