Notes

Ref. 5033P-001 was first produced in 2002 as a limited edition of 10 pieces on special order for the State of Qatar (10 in platinum and 1 in titanium). It was then launched at the 2006 Basel fair, with a different dial. This Reference features, for the first time, a minute-repeater mechanism and the annual calendar mechanism patented in 1996. The combination of the two in a single movement represents a genuine technical innovation. The exceptional sound of the minute-repeater is due to the use of two extra-long ?Cathedral? gongs, made of a special steel alloy that gives the hour strike a rich, full-bodied tone. The minute-repeat reverberates for a particularly long period of time, like cathedral bells. The Caliber R27PSQA is one of the most complex movements made by Patek Philippe, comprising a total of 483 parts. This is the first time one of the special limited editions of Ref. 5033P-001 has appeared at auction.
