(1851-2001)This limited edition wristwatch was exclusively available at Tiffany & Co.Each wristwatch of this limited series was accompanied by a solid hand engraved silver coin which represents the dial and the back cover of the timepiece and bears the inscription " in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the exceptional relationship between Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co."Tiffany and Co. is the only retailer whose name is featured on the dial of Patek Philippe watches. The "T150" is the first limited edition wristwatch ever produced for a U.S. retailer by Patek Philippe. This limited edition wristwatch was produced as follows: - 150 examples in yellow gold - 150 examples in white gold - 150 examples in pink gold TIFFANY & Co. New York.Jewelers, goldsmiths and watch-case manufacturers. Traces of the company are found in Geneva as early as 1888. It was founded in 1837 - the year of Queen Victoria’s ascension to the throne - by the young Lewis Tiffany, aged 25. The Victorian period was marked by the strict respect of manners and customs, a taste for opulence, and show of wealth. In America the rich and the middle classes, still heavily influenced by Europe, were nevertheless receptive to the decidedly American style that Tiffanywas about to create and popularize. In America, Tiffany first used the purity standard of 925/1000 for silver and, thanks to the efforts of Charles Lewis Tiffany, this standard was defined by the American Congress as the norm for American solid silver. The Tiffany & Co. goldsmith workshop became the first American school of design. Nature served as the most important source of inspiration for the new Tiffany collections, under the guidance of John C. Moore, first for silver objects, then for jewelry. The first design director of the company was Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the founder. He has been considered the American pioneer of the “Art Nouveau” style of design, employing his keen sense of color in the creation of multi-colored glass windows, for example.Since its creation in 1837, Tiffany has constantly been a symbol of refinement in elegant jewelry and all its other creations, with a network of more than 100 retailers in 16 countries. Tiffany has made watch cases for Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Touchon, Agassiz, Longines, and many more. During the second half of the 20th century, Tiffany created its own watch models.
