Ref. 5500, Platinum Pagoda Patek Philippe, Genève, No. 1853106, case No. 4014057, Ref. 5500P. Made in a limited edition of 150 pieces in 1997 for the inauguration of the new Patek Philippe Manufactory in Geneva. Very fine and very rare, rectangular flared, "bombé", platinum chronometer wristwatch with a platinum Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by the commemorative booklet, sterling silver medal, attestation, and the "Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres."

C. Two-body, solid, polished, concave sides, case back engraved "Commemoration 1997 - Pagoda", domed sapphire crystal. D. Black with applied white gold Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. White gold feuille hands. M. Cal. 215, stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 29 x 41 mm. Thickness 9.5 mm

Ref. 5500 Pagoda
The "Pagoda" series was specially created in 1997 to mark the inauguration of Patek Philippe's new watchmaking manufacture in Geneva. 2 limited editions were issued: Ref. 5500, the Gentleman?s model, in 2000 examples and Ref. 4900, the Lady?s model, in 750 examples. Destruction of the tools and dies used in the production of the Pagoda ensures that neither Ref. 5500 nor 4900 can ever again be manufactured. To further ensure their exclusivity, each edition came in different metals for the cases and was made in the following quantities:
