Notes

Ref. 5960P Launched in 2006 at the Basel Fair, it houses Patek Philippe?s first in-house chronograph calibre and sets the stage for future development using calibre 28-520. In its current form, as used in Ref. 5960P, it has an annual calendar combined with hour and minute recorder on the same subsidiary dial. The two times 30-minute register is used in conjunction with the aperture at the 6 o'clock position indicating if the minutes are in the first or second ?30?. The ingenious clutch mechanism employed in the chronograph allows the wearer to maintain the chronograph in use without additional wear on the movement, thereby negating the need for constant seconds. This clutch system also makes the chronograph start instantaneous without the immeasurable jump that sometimes occurs with other chronograph systems. These technological advances, along with the watch?s undisputable good looks, are without doubt the reason TIMEZONE members voted Ref. 5960 their ?Watch of the Year?.
