Solar-Powered Clock Patek Philippe, Genève, No. 873627, case No. 1042, Ref. 6236. Made circa 1965. Fine and rare, gilt brass, solar-powered Empire-style mantel clock with electrically-wound remontoir.
C. Brushed gilt brass, the front with four applied paterae, stiff-leaf and beaded bezel, the top with solar cells, hinged back door. D. Cream with radial black Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Fancy pierced black hands. M. Cal. based on a 17''' ?Gondolo? keyless mechanical movement, 29 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold and 1 position, solar-powered with lithium battery back-up, driving a remontoir train which replaces the barrel spring. Dial and movement signed. Dim. height 22.5 cm., width 18.5 cm., depth 8.5 cm.
