Cylindrical brass with a square pattern representing a chess board, applied brass chess pieces, the solar cells mounted on top of the clock in a circular brass mount with spade pattern, case raised on 3 ribbed feet. D. Matte silver with applied gilt chapter ring with engraved baton indexes. Gilt ?dauphine? hands. M. Cal. 17-250, electro-mechanic with lithium battery back-up, driving a remontoir train, winding the barrel spring, 29 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Glucydur Gyromax balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, ?swan-neck? micrometer regulator.
