Notes

Mme. Bischoff Along with Suzanne Rohr and L. Pellarin-LeRoy, Madame Bischoff was one of the very few enamellists capable of producing such exquisite work for Patek Philippe. Her scrupulous attention to detail and long experience of the technique of painting on enamel could perhaps be said to have reached its zenith in the creation of the present watch.
Carle Vernet (1758-1835) Antoine Charles Horace Vernet (known as Carle), was a French painter, the son of Claude Vernet. He excelled in the painting of hunting scenes and the depiction of horses. His sister was executed during the French revolution, after which he ceased painting until the Directoire period, when his style changed dramatically and his works depict the battles of Napoleon in minute detail.
