PAUL GARNIER MINIATURE QUARTER-REPEATER MADE FOR HENRY SEYMOUR GOLD Paul Garnier, Horloger du Roi, No. 497. Made circa 1840. Fine and very rare, miniature 18K gold quarter repeating watch with the crest of the Dukes of Somerset.

Four-body with ribbed band, the bezels, back engraved initials, the front with engraved crest. Gold cuvette. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold breguet hands. Gilt brass, 4 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, counterpoised lever and parachute, flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band.

Signed on the cuvette. DIAM. 32 mm. Bearing the crest of HENRY DANBY SEYMOUR (1820-1877), this is an example of an extremely rare and well made quarter-repeater in a miniature size (32mm.diameter) made in a style similar to BREGUET.
