Notes

Property of an Important Collector, Original Owner.

The name Perrelet is associated with significant horological inventions. To name a few, Abraham-Louis Perrelet (1729-1826) developed the automatic movement in 1770. Heir to his grandfather’s watchmaking genius, (1781-1854) invented the split-seconds mechanism in 1827.

Perrelet’s calibers, entirely crafted, decorated, adjusted and assembled within in-house workshops. Be it a traditional automatic caliber, a patented double rotor movement, or a tourbillon, the brand offers comprehensive possibilities. This lot echoes Breguet’s first tourbillon which was a one minute tourbillon, housing a cage that is starting and stopping sixtimes a second, 360 times a minute. This requires the use of a strong mainspring. In short, the cage should be as light as possible.
