Born at the end of the 19th century, in 1874, Piaget was founded by Georges-Édouard Piaget. During the 1970’s, a taste for extravagant colours combined with the quest of the manufacture to « always do better than necessary » brought to life a collection of wristwatches with dial made with precious gemstone such as lapis, malachite, coral… This technique is highly difficult and required a lot of experiments. Lot of these dials were broken during the production. Here the lot presented has a marvellous mother of pearl dial. Exceptionally well preserved, it shows the boundless and exuberant know-how of Piaget in the 1970’s.
