Notes

Manufactured and signed by Audemars Piguet, it is a self-winding skeleton watch with diamond-set bezel and inner ring, and is further embellished with an engraved rotor. Unknown to the market, and possibly unique, the current lot belonged to Mr Yasuo Noritake (1939-2010), a traditional Japanese culinary art master. Mr Noritake was the Chairman of Federation of Japanese Licensed Chef, and had been selected to perform the Sacred Ceremony (Hochodo, a traditional Japanese culinary art form of filleting a fish or fowl without touching it with one's hands) for Emperor Akihito. As a well-respected Japanese culinary art master, Mr Noritake had been awarded the Medals of Honour - Medal with Blue Ribbon by the Government of Japan in 1996, for his significant achievements in promoting culinary art and public hygiene. Shown here are pictures of Mr Noritake shaking hands with Mr Abe Shinzo (Prime Minister of Japan) wearing the watch on his left hand.
