MONS B. POITEVIN & V. LEJEUNE MINUTE REPEATING & CHRONOGRAPH Mons B. Poitevin & V. Lejeune, L. Gironde Succr., 22 Rue Vivienne, Paris, No. 59575. Made circa 1890. Very fine, 18K yellow gold, minute-repeating, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch with chronograph.
Four-body, "bassine", polished, button at 12 for start/stop and return-to-zero function of the chronograph. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost fifths of a second divisions with Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. 20''', rhodium plated,29 jewels, wolf 's tooth winding, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, swanneck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Cuvette signed.
