PORSCHE 964 Carrera Cup FRENCH HISTORY 265 HP The Porsche 964 Carrera Cup was developed for the customer racing season 1990, replacing the successful 944 Cup series. Based on the 964 Carrera 2 model, the Cup were literally taken off from the production lines, equipped with the specific racing devices and the engines were selected by Porsche engineers in order to have exactly equivalent performances between each car. The 964 Cup was lightened by removal of noise insulation and comfort equipment, racing seats were installed with six points safety harness, a welded roll-cage and a fire-suppression system. Regarding the chassis, the suspension was stiffened, the springs shortened by 55 mm.compared to the Carrera 2, the anti-roll bars were adjustable, the brake system borrowed from the 930 with recalibrated ABS and the unassisted steering was upgraded with a faster ratio. So furnished, the 964 Carrera Cup weights only 1120 kg and combined with the 265 horsepower flat-6 and 5-manual gearbox with recalibrated gear ratio, the performances were quite exceptional and the racing feeling just amazing! This rare Porsche 964 Carrera Cup is one of the 170 built, delivered new in Germany in 1990 with chassis number WPOZZZ96ZMS409007 and factory options 220: 40% limited slip differential. In very nice conditions, this model has been running in Carrera Club France and shows 34 011 kilometers on odometer. Initially reserved to an envied competitor, this 964 Carrera Cup for track use only is now available for somebody wishful to discover genuine racing feelings on track through a mythical and performing Porsche 911 type 964.
