REGNAULT "THE HEART" YELLOW GOLD AND ENAMEL Regnault à Paris, No. 2329. Made circa 1800. Very fine, rare and unusual, gilt and painted on enamel heart-shaped watch.

Two-body, heart-shaped, foliate-chased borders and band, hinged and sprung bezel with translucent royal blue enamel reserves decorated with painted flowers and gold paillons within white enamel line borders, the back with a finely painted on enamel oval portrait of a young lady within a translucent royal blue enamel border painted with cherubs and flowers and with gold paillon decoration. White enamel with Arabic numerals, dot minute divisions and Arabic fifteen minute numerals, winding aperture at 2. Gold beetle and poker hands. 36 mm., giIt brass full plate, fusee with chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain 3-arm gilt balance, engraved continental clock, polished steel endplate. Movement signed.
