The RM 055 Bubba Watson is one of Richard Mille’s most recognisable sports watches, developed around the principles of extreme lightness, resistance and mechanical transparency. Closely associated with professional golfer Bubba Watson, the model embodies the manufacture’s philosophy of creating highly technical watches capable of withstanding the stresses of professional sport while retaining the unmistakable architectural language of Richard Mille.

The present Asia Edition offers a considerably more precious interpretation of this performance-driven concept. Its approximately 42 by 50 mm tonneau-shaped case combines Carbon TPT with 18K pink gold and extensive diamond setting. The layered, technical appearance of the carbon creates a dramatic contrast with the warmth of the pink gold and the brilliance of the diamonds, transforming the familiar RM 055 into an altogether more elaborate and visually striking creation.

At its heart is the manually wound calibre RMUL2, displayed through an extensively openworked construction that makes the movement itself an essential part of the design. Its skeletonised bridges, wheels and regulating organ create a complex mechanical landscape, while the absence of a conventional dial reinforces the impression that the watch has been engineered from the inside outward.

Dating from 2022 and created for the Asian market, this unusual configuration perfectly illustrates Richard Mille’s ability to bring together seemingly opposing worlds: advanced composite materials and precious metals, sporting performance and high jewellery, technical restraint and considerable visual presence. The result is a particularly distinctive interpretation of the RM 055 and one of the more elaborate executions of the Bubba Watson family.

The watch is accompanied by its original fitted box and warranty. It is fitted to a rubber strap with a Richard Mille titanium double deployant clasp.
