The RM 11-02 GMT represents one of the most technically complete interpretations of Richard Mille’s celebrated RM 011 platform, combining the manufacture’s distinctive tonneau architecture with a flyback chronograph, GMT indication, annual calendar and countdown display. The present Shanghai Edition is particularly rare, having been produced in a highly limited series of only 30 pieces.
Its imposing 42.7 by 50 mm case is executed in Carbon TPT, whose characteristic layered structure creates an irregular surface pattern unique to each watch while providing exceptional lightness and resistance. The monochromatic carbon construction is contrasted by a white rubber strap and vivid yellow and red accents across the dial and pushers, giving this Shanghai edition a particularly strong visual identity.
At its heart is the self-winding calibre RMAC2, an exceptionally complex 68-jewel movement developed around Richard Mille’s philosophy of combining mechanical performance with immediate functionality. The flyback chronograph allows instantaneous restarting of the timing sequence, while the GMT function provides a second time-zone indication. An annual calendar and oversized date complete an unusually comprehensive set of complications.
Despite the density of information, the openworked dial remains unmistakably Richard Mille. The movement, indications, hands and scales are deliberately layered to create depth, allowing the mechanics themselves to form the architecture of the watch. The result is less a conventional dial than a highly technical instrument in which virtually every functional element remains visible.
Limited to just 30 examples and distinguished by its Shanghai-specific configuration, the RM 11-02 combines rarity, advanced materials and one of Richard Mille’s most elaborate automatic movements in a particularly striking expression of the manufacture’s high-performance watchmaking.
The watch is accompanied by its original fitted box and warranty. It is fitted to a rubber strap with a black and titanium Richard Mille deployant clasp.
