The RM 35-02 Rafael Nadal represents one of Richard Mille’s most accomplished expressions of high-performance sports watchmaking. Developed within the celebrated Rafael Nadal family, the model translates many of the technical principles established by the manufacture’s extreme tourbillon watches into a self-winding wristwatch conceived around lightness, resistance and exceptional ergonomics.
Its imposing 50 by 44 mm tonneau-shaped case is constructed from Carbon TPT, formed from multiple layers of carbon fibres that create the distinctive striated pattern visible across the case. The material combines exceptional rigidity with remarkably low weight, while its unique surface means that no two cases present exactly the same appearance.

At its heart is the self-winding calibre RMAL1, revealed almost entirely through the extensively skeletonised dial. Bridges, wheels and structural components are exposed rather than concealed, transforming the movement into the visual architecture of the watch. Bright pink, yellow and red accents punctuate the otherwise monochromatic composition, reinforcing the deliberately sporting character of the reference.

The RM 35-02 is particularly significant as the first automatic model in the RM 035 family, combining the convenience of self-winding with the lightweight construction and shock resistance associated with Richard Mille’s partnership with Rafael Nadal. Despite its substantial dimensions, the extensive use of Carbon TPT and openworked components allows the watch to remain exceptionally light on the wrist.
