Fine and very rare, oversized, rectangular curved, astronomic, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K white gold gentleman's wristwatch with bi-retograde day and date, moon phases and an 18K white gold Roger Dubuis buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box and certificate.

C. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, transparent case back with eight screws, straight lugs with screwed white gold bars, sapphire crystals. D. Satiné silver with large radial Arabic numerals, sectors for the retrograde days of the month and of the week, aperture for the moon phases. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Cal. 5740, stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 29 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to five positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, micrometer regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Dim. 34 x 47 mm.

Notes

Roger Dubuis. The company was founded in 1995 by Master Watchmaker Roger Dubuis and his partner, Carlos Diaz. What began with just one employee has (since the introduction of a first collection in 1996 at the prestigious SIHH salon, in Geneva) gradually evolved into a manufacture with close to 150 employees today. Roger Dubuis was born in 1940 in Vevey, Switzerland and completed his studies at the Geneva Ecole d'Horlogerie. After working for 14 years in the Patek Philippe complicated timepieces atelier, in 1980 he became an independent watchmaker, restoring antique collectors? timepieces, developing projects for some of the best Swiss watchmaking houses, and pursuing research on what was to become the specialty of the company: retrograde indications. Today the brand offers several lines of watches with four of their own calibers and their own complications. Each model is limited to 28 examples, all are certified as chronometers and the entire production bears the Poinçon de Genève. In 2002, Roger Dubuis moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Meyrin.
