?Ref. 4816? Rolex, "Officially Certified, Chronometer", Ref. 4816. Case No. 845666. Made in 1951. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with a gold plated Rolex buckle.

Yellow gold ?Dauphine? hands. M. Cal. 700, 10 1/2''' rhodium-plated, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Superbalance adjusted to six positions, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case, and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 9 mm.

Reference 4816 appeared in the Rolex catalogue from 1947 to 1953 and was available in 18K pink or yellow gold only. This model was referred to in period advertising as having ?an extremely slim case with pleasing curved lines, luxury dial with honeycomb decoration and gold appliques?.
