Notes

The ?Super-Oyster? winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. Though the system itself worked, it required more regular maintenance and was not well received by the public. The line was therefore dropped after only a few years of production. The calibre 10 1/2''' ref. 710 was made between 1944 and 1951. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 117.
