Notes

This type of case is called ?Bubble-Back? by English speaking collectors. The Italian collectors call the watch an ?ovetto? due to the olive like outline of the case. In period advertisements, this model is shown as being made in 18K gold, stainless steel and 14K gold and in stainless steel. Ref. 5011 and 6011 are identical except that the 6011 has a ?Super-Oyster? crown and the 5011 has a traditional Oyster crown. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, pp. 150, 151.
