Ref. 3484 ?Black Dial? Rolex "Antimagnetic", Ref. 3484. Case No. 039554. Made in 1939. Very fine and very rare, stainless steel gentleman?s wristwatch with black dial, square button chronograph, register, tachometer, telemeter and stainless steel Rolex buckle.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, narrow bezel, straight lugs. D. Black with gilt baton indexes and Arabic 6 and 12, gilt outer minute/seconds divisions with Arabic five minutes/seconds, subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register dials, gilt outermost tachometer and telemeter scales. Gilt ?baton? hands. M. 13???, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 32 mm. Thickness 12 mm.

Reference 3484 was produced from 1939 to 1949 in stainless steel and in gold. It is very unusual to find this reference in such good condition and especially with black dial. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p 406.
