Ref. 5700, Stainless Steel ?Air-King-Date? Rolex, ?Oyster Perpetual, Air-King-Date, Precision?, Ref. 5700/1500. Case No. 2952269. Made in 1971. Fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with date.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, crystal with "cyclops" lens. D. Linen-textured silver with applied steel baton indexes, luminous dots, outer minute/ seconds track, aperture for the date. Luminous steel "bâton" hands. M. Cal. 1520, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, selfcompensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 12.5 mm.

The Reference 5700 ?Air-King-Date? was only available on a limited number of markets. The present lot bears two reference numbers, 5700 on the body of the watch, which refers to the specific characteristics of this watch, and ref 1500 in the case back, which refers to the series of references to which it belongs. The case bodies and backs were interchangeable at the factory. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p 360.
