Notes

Reference 6238 is known by collectors as the ?Pre-Daytona? and was first published in the Rolex catalogue in 1964. This reference was available in stainless steel, 14K gold and 18K gold until it was removed from the Rolex catalogue in 1968. This watch is fitted with a Calibre 722 which is an improved version of the Valjoux 72B, often the improved calibres were not renumbered. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 438.
