Notes

Reference 4118 was available in 18K yellow and 18K pink gold and was made from 1942 to 1945. The 4100 series of references was duplicated during the 1970s as the Cellini line. The first 4100 series of references are amongst the rarest of Rolex?s non-Oyster watches and include the famous Ref. 4113 oversized split-seconds chronograph and the Ref. 4100 Chronograph with 35 mm steel and gold case, with lugs similar to the present lot. The caliber 700 was created in 1938 and was in regular production from 1944 to 1951. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 58.
