Ref. 1603 Stainless Steel ?Datejust? Rolex, ?Oyster Perpetual, Datejust, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified?, Ref. 1603. Case No. 583923. Made in 1960. Fine and unusual, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with date and a stainless steel Rolex buckle. Accompanied by the original timing certificate.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, lapidated bezel with faceted hour markers, crystal with "cyclops" lens. D. Silvered with applied ?Sword? indexes, luminous dots, outer minute/seconds divisions and aperture for the date. Luminous steel "bâton" hands. M. Cal. 1560/65, rhodium-plated, "oeil-de-perdrix" decoration, 25 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balancespring, Microstella regulating screws. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 11 mm.

This watch is extremely unusual for a reference 1603, as this reference usually has a ?60 Indexes? bezel. This reference with this bezel was featured in the 1962 catalogue for the Italian market. Reference 1603 was produced from 1960 to 1976 Caliber 1565 is an improved version of the caliber 1560. The bridge of the caliber 1565 is however still engraved 1560.
