Ref. 4113, ?Chronographe Rattrapante? Rolex, "Antimagnetique?, Ref. 4113. Case No. 051324. Made in a limited series of 12 examples in 1942. Exceptionally rare and extremely fine, oversized, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with square button split-seconds chronograph, register, tachometer and telemeter and co-axial button on the winding-crown, with a stainless steel Rolex buckle.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, inclined bezel, stepped concave lugs, co-axial single button on the winding-crown for start-stop and return to zero functions of the chronograph. D. Matte silver with applied pink gold Arabic numerals and baton indexes, subsidiary seconds and 30- minute register dials, outer 1/5th second track with Arabic five minute/second numerals, tachometer graduation and concentric blue telemeter scale. Pink gold "baton" hands. M. Cal. 17 1/2''', rhodiumplated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed Diam. 44 mm. Thickness 12 mm.

This split-seconds chronograph is considered the rarest and the most sought-after by Rolex collectors worldwide. It was made in stainless steel only. This wristwatch is based on a 16??? pocket watch ebauche and therefore unlike traditional chronograph wristwatches the start/stop/re-start function of the chronograph is in the co-axial button in the crown, the split seconds by a push-button at 2 (stop and fly-back), return to 0 with a push-button at 4.
