Notes

This split-seconds chronograph is considered the rarest and the most sought-after by Rolex collectors worldwide. It was made in stainless steel only. This wristwatch is based on a 16??? pocket watch ebauche and therefore unlike traditional chronograph wristwatches the start/stop/re-start function of the chronograph is in the co-axial button in the crown, the split seconds by a push-button at 2 (stop and fly-back), return to 0 with a push-button at 4. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 416.
