Notes

Accompanied by its original fitted box with gilt writing, this ?Day-Date? chronometer is one of the most original examples of a 6611B to have appeared on the market. The watch still retains its original ?Jubilee? bracelet reference 6311 and is further enhanced by the unusual black to brown colour change dial. At the time this watch was launched it was available with either a gold bracelet or with two leather straps and a gold buckle. It was unusual at the time for any watch to be delivered with two straps. Production of Day-date started in 1956, this model was produced in 18k pink, white and yellow gold as well as platinum, 6 examples are known in stainless steel. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 258, 259.
