Notes

Reference 5513, Submariner was launched with ?Crown-Guard? in 1959, and was only produced in stainless steel and remained in the Rolex Catalogue until 1990. This reference has been the choice of many of the world?s elite military forces. It is said that the two things that give away a member of the U.S. Special Forces identity are his sapphire ring and his Rolex Submariner. The 5513 remained in production until 1991. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, pp. 300, 301.
