Notes

Due to the covers or ?hoods? welded on the lugs, collectors call watches of this type ?Rigid Hooded? . The box of the current lot is interesting due to the fact that it is accompanied by a detail leaflet that informs the owner that the box can be used as a cigarette case. The calibre 520, 8 3/4 ??? was produced between 1940 and 1948. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p. 156.
