Very fine and rare, tonneau-shaped, self-winding, waterresistant, stainless steel and yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with center-seconds, ?Super Oyster? crown, yellow gold hooded lugs and stainless steel and gold Rolex ?Grain of Rice? bracelet.

Cal. 9 3/4''', rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Superbalance, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 32 mm. Thickness 13 mm.

Notes

The ?Super-Oyster? winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. The system itself worked, however in time the rubber seal perished and this crown type was phased out after only a few years of production.
