Ref. 6542, Stainless Steel "GMT-Master, Perspex Bezel" Rolex,?Oyster Perpetual, GMT-Master, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified?, Ref. 6542. Made in 1958. Fine and very rare, early, two-time zone, center-seconds, selfwinding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with date, perspex blue and red 24-hour bezel and hand, and a stainless steel Rolex Jubilee bracelet.

C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, perspex red and blue graduated bi-directional revolving 24-hour bezel for the second time-zone, crystal with "cyclops" lens. D. Black with luminous round, triangular and bâton indexes, outer minute track, aperture for the date. Luminous "Alpha" hands. M. Cal. 1065, rhodium plated, 25 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and five positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 39 mm. Thickness 13 mm.

Notes

The Ref. 6542 was created in 1958, making the present watch one of the first examples. This reference was fitted with a perspex bezel only for a very short time after it was launched.
