Yellow Gold Ref. 5100 ?Quartz? Rolex, ?Quartz?, No. 882, Ref. 5100. Made in a limited edition of 1,000 examples from 1970-1972. Fine and rare, tonneau-shaped, center-seconds, 18K yellow gold gentleman's quartz wristwatch with date and an integrated, 18K yellow gold Rolex bracelet.

C. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, fluted bezel and crown, sapphire crystal with "cyclops" lens. D. Champagne with applied yellow gold bâton indexes and luminous dots, aperture for the date. Luminous gold "bâton" hands. M. Cal. Beta 21, 13 jewels, frequency of the quartz oscillator: 8192 Hz, reduced to 256 Hz by the frequency reducer. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 38 x 40 mm. Caliber Beta 21 After a year of research for the study of a quartz wrist caliber, the 'Electronic Watch Center' (CEH), developed and finished the caliber Beta 21 (29 x 24,3 mm. It was ready for production in 1969 and was presented at the Basel Fair in 1970. This watch is illustrated in ?Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches?, by Osvaldo Patrizzi, 2001 Edition, p 364.
