"Observatory Quality Chronometer" Rolex, "Observatory Quality", No. 1002135, retailed by C. Bucherer, Lucerne. Made in the 1920s. Fine, thin, 18K yellow gold, hunting-cased, keyless pocket watch.
C. Four-body, "bassine", polished. Hinged gold cuvette. D. Matte champagne, black Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Black steel "cathedral" hands. M. Cal. 142, ?Observatory Quality, Amtlich Geprueft?, rhodium-plated, "faussescôtes" decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial case and movement signed. Diam. 50 mm.
