Ref. 6105, ?Red Date-Black Dial? Rolex, "Oyster Perpetual, Datejust, Chronometer Officially Certified", case No. 907165, Ref. 6105. Made in 1952. Very fine and rare, water-resistant, center seconds, self-winding, 18K yellow gold chronometer wristwatch with red date.

Notes

The ?Super-Oyster? winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. While the system itself worked, in time the rubber seal perished and therefore this crown type was phased out after only a few years of production.
