C. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, graduated revolving black bezel for the decompression times, Twinlock winding-crown protected by the "SQUARE Crown Guard". D. Black with luminous round, triangular and baton indexes. Luminous steel skeleton hands. M. Cal. T 390, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 14 mm.

Production of this reference model started around 1958. While the 7928 Submariner was usually produced with a pointed or rounded crown guard (just like its sister Rolex Ref. 5512), it was also made with a square crown guard configuration. These models were produced in a very small batch the year 1959 only and all seem to start with serial numbers 305xxx
