Double-Red Sea-Dweller Submariner Mark IV" Rolex, "Oyster Perpetual Date, Sea-Dweller, Submariner 2000, 2000 ft./610 m., Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified," Ref. 1665. Made in 1975, sold on November 29, 1976. Fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel diver's wristwatch with red Sea-Dweller logo, helium escape valve, date and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster Fliplock bracelet. Accompanied by the original box, Guarantee Certificate (now void), instruction booklet and a service invoice dated 9/10/2006.

Cal. 1570, rhodium-plated, oeil-de-perdrix decoration, 26 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock absorber, selfcompensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws, hack mechanism. Notes

The fourth version of the ref. 1665 was produced from 1974 to 1977. The double red writing is usually printed directly on the dial and is generally not as bright as the second version but more vibrant than the third version. The first red line reads 'SEA DWELLER' and underneath it, printed in a smaller font size, 'SUBMARINER 2000'. The coronet in the fourth version is distinguished from the prior versions in that the tips of the crown are thin and clearly separated and the oval at the base of the coronet is circular in appearance. The application of the white paint is thin and appears bubbly in its application. There is a fifth version of the ref. 1665 dial that was provided by Rolex as a service replacement dial. The service replacement dial is different than the four original dials in that Luminova was used instead of Tritium.
