Notes

Sir Walter William "Wally" Herbert (24 October 1934 - 12 June 2007) was an English polar explorer, writer and artist. In 1969 he became the first man to walk undisputed to the North Pole. He wore this Oysterquartz on his 1971 expedition to Greenland, during which he made a film on the polar Eskimos, and in 1979, when he circumnavigated Greenland.
