Wally Herbert?s Oysterquartz Rolex, Genève, ?Oysterquartz Datejust, Ref. 17000?. Made in the late 1970s. Fine, tonneau-shaped, center seconds, water-resistant, stainless steel chronometer wristwatch with date and integrated, stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. Accompanied by a service invoice from Rolex, Geneva, dated May 13, 1988 along with correspondence, a copy of a Rolex advertisement, a pamphlet on Wally Herbert, and a letter from Wally Herbert confirming the use of this timepiece on two Arctic Expeditions.
C. Three-body, polished and brushed, polished bezel, screwed down case back and crown, sapphire crystal with cyclops lens. D. Satiné silver with applied steel baton indexes and luminous dots, outer minute/seconds divisions, aperture for the date. Luminous steel baton hands. M. Cal. 5035 with quartz standardization, rhodium-plated, 11 jewels, adjusted to temperature, hack mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 14 mm
